This list is arranged by PSG in order to provide a few ideas of activities and places to visit for the QSI community to explore during weekends and vacations. It is far from complete. Please feel free to contact us with questions, tips and details on activities. We consider this list a work in progress that will be added on, corrected and further developed as we go along. Activities Outside of Chisinau
Beautiful Orhei Veche (Old Vechi) – about an hour from Chisinau
There are plenty of things to see, experience and explore in the area of old Orhei, in and around the villages of Trebuceni and Butuceni. Click here for travel info.
Ostrich farm, horseback riding lessons and trail rides. A great place to spend a day outdoors with the family. They have a small zoo, a lake, ostrich farm, and pony rides. - The Ferma Veche "old farm" in the Butuceni village under Orhei Veche. A working farm and petting zoo. Contact to book in advance:
- In Butuceni Village you can also visit the cave church and walk a trail that runs through the village and on the ridge of the cliffs. See this link for map and details.
- In nearby Trebuceni there are more caves and wonderful and easily accessible tracks just above the village to explore and not the least to do some bird watching. Click here for more info.

If you're looking to get out of the city and into nature, there are plenty of places throughout Moldova that offer wooded trails and beautiful views. Museum and caves with archeological digs in the village, Second World War monument, and a hydro plant. Nice view, nice for picnics, but steep so keep an eye on more experimental kids.
